UNT condensing unit – how to choose the right one

The UNT condensing unit is a family with a compression (CC) from 14.5 to 27.8, intended for LBP (-40°C / -10°C) and M/HBP (-20°C / +10°C) applications. The manufacturer gives the refrigerants R134a, R404A/R507/R452A and R290 for it.

This is the upper part of the Embraco condensing unit range in our offer. What is characteristic here is the combination of the highest compression values with a declaration of very low noise – a feature that matters in premises where the plant room adjoins the dining area.

From this family we also list the single part number UNT2178GK.

How to choose a compressor for the refrigerant and the temperature range – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Larger cold rooms and freezer cabinets
  • Appliances with a higher capacity demand
  • Premises where the noise level is subject to requirements
  • Installations running on R290

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the refrigerant and the temperature range – we will select the unit or the compressor.

Ask a question
Is the upper compression value enough for a large cold room?

Compression describes the size of the assembly, not a capacity ready to be entered into a design. For larger premises a calculation of the demand is needed, and only on that basis do we select a model.

How does the UNT differ from the NT compressor?

The designation NT refers to the compressor alone, while UNT refers to the condensing unit from the same stable. We list the two groups separately and they are ordered for a different stage in building the circuit.
