Wall-mounted pre-rinse spray tap (1/2") AG-1/05PFE – how to choose the right one
AG-1/05PFE is a wall-mounted pre-rinse spray tap with a 1/2 inch connection, with self-lubricating, non-seizing valve heads and a swivel spout next to the gun. The braided hose is insulated and reinforced at the ends, and it is guided by a chrome-plated steel spring.
The second spout is the most important difference here compared with models that have only a spray head. A pot or a bucket is filled from it with a normal stream, without holding the gun, while the spray head stays in the spring and waits for rinsing off residues.
A self-lubricating head is a different philosophy from a ceramic cartridge: it works with its own lubricant, so the handle stays smooth even after years, and the manufacturer describes it as non-seizing. On tapware opened several hundred times a day it is precisely the smoothness of the handle that tends to be the first sign of wear.

Ask a questionWhy does a pre-rinse spray tap also have an ordinary spout?
Because these are two different jobs. The spray head knocks off residues with a narrow, powerful jet, but filling a pot with it takes forever and the lever has to be held down the whole time. The swivel spout takes over that second role and turns over the bowl whenever it is needed.
How does it differ from AG-9/05TD, which is also wall-mounted?
In the type of valve heads. Here they are self-lubricating and non-seizing, in AG-9/05TD they are ceramic. The rest of the equipment is described identically: a swivel spout, a chrome-plated spring and a braided hose reinforced at the ends.
Can this tap be mounted in the worktop?
No. This is a wall version, fixed to outlets in the wall, so switching to deck mounting means a different model. Deck-mounted versions, single- or two-hole, are the ones for a hole in the worktop.
