Touchless basin valve (1/2") AG-3015N – how to choose the right one
AG-3015N is a touchless basin valve on a 1/2" connection, with a sensor reaching up to 30 cm, a start/stop function and a single flow limited to 30–60 seconds. It can be powered by batteries or by 230 V mains voltage in an IP54 version.
Limiting the flow time is a safeguard against a situation in which something is left in the sensor's field – a towel, a bag, a brush leaning against the basin – and the water runs endlessly. Once the set time has elapsed the valve closes by itself, regardless of what the sensor sees.
A shorter sensor range than in taps reaching 60 cm is an advantage here, not a limitation. Where basins stand close together, a longer range makes the device start because someone walks past rather than because hands are slid under the spout.

That the power supply unit is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction. In a room where the floor and walls are hosed down, that is a basic condition for every live component.
What does remote control give you?
The remote control allows the sensor distance, the flow time and the closing delay to be changed without dismantling the device. Without it the unit runs on the factory settings, which are usually sufficient at a typical basin.
Batteries or a mains supply?
A mains supply takes the duty of changing batteries off the staff, but requires power to be run to the basin. The battery version works well in a refit, where chasing the wall for a cable is more trouble than an annual change of cells.
