If the panel is already populated with one of these series, it is worth keeping to it. On a new build a fixed part number is often more convenient, because it removes the need to agree the output with every subsequent order.

Is the emitter suitable for building into a machine?

The manufacturer describes such an application for thermoforming machines, giving a distance of 15–20 cm from the material being formed. Beyond that case the data sheet does not define the conditions for building it in.
