Compressor crankcase heater for Danfoss compressors 230 V – various models GK-CA – how to choose the right one
The GK-CA compressor crankcase heater is intended for Danfoss compressors supplied at 230 V. It is fixed with a 700 mm metal clamp, and its supply lead is 1000 mm long as standard.
This component has one job: to keep the oil in the crankcase warm enough that refrigerant does not collect in it while the compressor is idle. That is why the heater works when the compressor is standing still, not when it is cooling.
This part number has no built-in thermostat – unlike the GK-CCT model, the control has to be provided on the installation side. In selection that is the first thing to settle, right after the make of the compressor.

Does the 700 mm clamp fit every body?
The data sheet names Danfoss compressors, but the circumference of the body differs between models. Before ordering it is worth measuring the compressor the heater is to go around.
