The KK-4225 L (40-60) is a composite handle with a lock, intended for a left-hand leaf with a panel 40 to 60 mm thick. The manufacturer states the fitting's weight at 1680 g.
Being able to lock with a key on a thin panel is most useful in small chambers set up in a shared space - in back-of-house areas with supplier traffic, or in a kitchen worked by several teams. The insulation itself is light, but the contents can be valuable.
The left-hand version is a fixed feature of the product, as across the whole 4025 and 4225 family. For doors opening the other way, the R code is used.

It is added by the lock mechanism built into the body. The version without a lock weighs 1340 g, with a lock 1680 g, for the same declared panel thickness.
Doesn't the lock weaken the fitting on a thin panel?
The manufacturer specifies the same thickness range for both variants, so the lockable version has no narrower application. The body construction has simply been widened to take the insert.
