Photocell electronic tap (1/2") AG-3180 – how to choose the right one
AG-3180 is an electric photocell tap with a chrome-plated brass body, a 1/2" connection and a 25 mm mounting hole. The sensor works up to 60 cm and the flow is about 6 l/min at 3 bar.
Six litres per minute is about half of what a pre-rinse spray tap delivers. For hand washing such an output is entirely sufficient, and the difference in consumption is noticeable in premises where several hundred users pass the basin each day.
A 25 mm hole is smaller than the standard cut-out for a catering tap. When replacing a conventional tap with a touchless one this has to be checked: the device will fit an existing, wider hole only with a cover plate.

Ask a questionDoes a photocell tap let you set the temperature?
This model has no mixer, so it delivers water at the temperature supplied to the connection. Adjustment has to be provided earlier, in the pipework, or a version fitted with a manual mixer has to be chosen.
How do you calculate the water saving at 6 l/min?
By the actual flow time. The tap opens only when hands are under the spout, so the water running while soaping is dropped – and that is usually the greater part of the time spent at the basin.
