Photocell electronic tap (1/2") AG-801E – how to choose the right one
AG-801E is an electric photocell tap, triggered from up to 60 cm away, with a start/stop function and a flow of about 6 l/min at 3 bar. It requires a 25 mm mounting hole and a 1/2" connection, and it can be powered by batteries or from the mains.
The choice of supply is worth settling before installation, because it is hard to change later. Cells mean no cable and full freedom in siting the basin; a mains supply means no interruptions in service and one duty less for the staff.
In premises with a dozen or more touchless devices the advantage of a mains supply grows: changing the batteries in each one separately takes real time, and a flat sensor usually only shows up when someone cannot wash their hands.

Ask a questionWhat happens when the cells run out in the battery version?
The tap stops responding to the sensor, so the draw-off point drops out of use until they are replaced. That is why with a larger number of battery devices replacement is planned cyclically rather than after a failure.
Is 60 cm of range a lot?
At a single basin in an open room – just right. In a narrow passage or at a run of basins standing side by side a model with a shorter range works better, to limit accidental activations.
