Photocell electronic tap (1/2") AG-802E – how to choose the right one
AG-802E is a touchless electric tap with a photocell reaching up to 60 cm and a start/stop function, mounted in a 25 mm hole on a 1/2" connection. The output is about 6 l/min at 3 bar, and the supply can be battery or mains.
A device of this type requires a different maintenance rhythm than an ordinary tap. Instead of changing seals, what counts is the cleanliness of the sensor window: dried soap or hard-water deposits can shorten the effective detection range even though the electronics work correctly.
Wiping the sensor therefore becomes part of the cleaning routine, alongside washing the spout itself. It is the commonest cause of reports that the tap “has stopped seeing hands”, and the cheapest to remove.

Most often because of a dirty sensor window. A layer of soap or scale scatters the beam and shortens the range, so the device responds only to hands held right against the spout.
How does AG-802E differ from AG-811E?
The manufacturer's description is identical for both: the same range, the same output, the same mounting hole and the same supply options. The only difference is the part number, probably related to the shape of the spout.
