Photocell electronic tap (1/2") AG-811E – how to choose the right one
AG-811E is an electric photocell tap with detection up to 60 cm, a start/stop function and an output of about 6 l/min at 3 bar. It is mounted in a hole 25 mm across, on a 1/2" connection, with a battery or mains supply.
When planning a replacement it is worth remembering that touchless devices need a narrower cut-out than conventional catering taps, which usually sit in a 35 mm hole. The difference of ten millimetres decides whether the installation can do without a cover plate.
The second thing to check is the space under the sanitaryware: the battery box or the power supply unit has to fit somewhere, preferably so that it can be reached without dismantling the trap.

Usually not without adaptation, because those are mounted in a 35 mm cut-out while 25 mm is needed here. The excess is covered with a plate, provided its diameter is sufficient – which is why the existing hole has to be measured before ordering.
Where is the power supply for this device placed?
Under the basin, in a battery box or in a mains power supply unit. During installation it is worth providing access to it, so that changing the batteries does not require dismantling the drainage connection.
