It can be decisive in borderline furniture. If the chamber volume falls close to the upper value of the smaller index, it is safer to reach for the larger one – the margin covers the losses from opening the doors.
What happens when a monoblock is oversized?
The system works in short cycles, switches on more often and chills the air at the evaporator more strongly. This is not a fault, but it brings no benefit either, which is why selection is made to the actual volume.
Is R290 refrigerant common to the whole series?
Yes, all four STC indexes are described as running on R290. The differences concern the chamber volume and the declared capacity.
