Monoblock for a 1400 refrigerated cabinet (-2°C / +10°C) MB-SZ-MBP-5PHV22/1400G – how to choose the right one

MB-SZ-MBP-6PHV22/1400G cools a cabinet with a volume of 1400 l within a range of –2°C / +10°C. The manufacturer declares 513 W** of capacity at 285 W** of energy consumption, an R290 charge of 62 g and a 230V-50Hz power supply.

The lower limit of the range drops below zero, which is why this version is fitted with hot gas defrosting. That is the difference from the twin HBP index, which – at the same volume and with the same figures – thaws the evaporator passively, because it only starts work at +2°C.

The ratio of output to energy drawn is clearly more favourable here than in the freezer version of the same volume: 513 W** delivered for 285 W** drawn. That is a direct consequence of the operating range.

How to choose a monoblock for the volume and the mounting location – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • High-capacity refrigerated cabinets in back-of-house areas
  • Storing product that requires a temperature below zero
  • Furniture taking in high-moisture loads, where the evaporator frosts up faster
  • Upgrading a cabinet with a 510 x 385 mm aperture

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the volume and the temperature range – we will select the monoblock.

Ask a question
When should MBP be chosen instead of HBP for the same cabinet?

When a temperature below zero is needed, for example for meat or fish. For storage in the region of +4°C the HBP version is sufficient, and its defrost cycle is simpler.

What does the double asterisk next to the values mean?

It refers to the measurement conditions adopted by the manufacturer for refrigeration versions. Freezer versions are marked with a single asterisk, because they are tested at a different operating point.

Does hot gas defrosting require any additional installation?

No, the heat comes from the monoblock's own circuit. You do, however, have to provide drainage for the defrost water, because at this volume there is a fair amount of condensate.
