Monoblocks for freezer rooms (R290, -25°C / -15°C) – wall-mounted MBP-KOB-L – how to choose the right one
MBP-KOB-L is a wall monoblock for freezer rooms, working within a range of –25°C / –15°C on R290 refrigerant. It fits into a cut-out in the panel, and the room is built from PU panels 100 mm thick, the thickness provided for sub-zero temperatures.
The difference from the refrigeration version does not end with the appliance itself. Thicker insulation, different door sealing and faster frost build-up mean that a freezer room is a separate project, not a cold room with a lower setting.
The panels are clad in galvanised sheet coated with plastic in white RAL9010, optionally with an inner sheet of stainless steel. The manufacturer gives this specification jointly for both ranges, and the only thing that changes within it is the thickness of the foam.

Ask a questionIs it enough to change the monoblock for a cold room to start freezing?
No. A shell of 60 mm panels will not hold –25°C at a sensible energy consumption, and on top of that there is the problem of condensation on the panel surface. The rebuild covers the whole cold room.
How often does a freezer room defrost?
The frequency is set by the controller and is matched to the moisture brought in with the goods and to the number of entries. The catalogue gives no ready schedule for this entry.
Does the floor of the cold room need insulation as well?
In freezing yes – without an insulated floor the cold works its way into the slab, and over longer operation there is a risk of it heaving. The scope of the panel supply is established when the cold room is ordered.
