Drainer for a gastronorm container 265x162 mm (polypropylene) KZ-GNPFR14 – how to choose the right one

The KZ-GNPFR14 drainer is a polypropylene insert for a Gastronorm container in the GN 1/4 size, with a 265 × 162 mm footprint. It's placed on the base of the container to separate the product from the run-off that collects underneath.

Without the insert, any product releasing liquid ends up sitting in what's leaked out of it. Fish, cold cuts or thawing meat then dry out only on top, while reabsorbing moisture from below – with a visible effect on the portion's appearance.

In this role, the 1/4 format is the smallest available. It works well for single items in a display case, where the quantity of product is small and what matters most is that the display looks as good at the end of the day as at the start.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Refrigerated display cases with small portions of fish and cold cuts
  • Thawing individual batches of product in the cold room
  • Displaying product that shouldn't sit in its own run-off
  • Bar and salad stations with small ingredients drained on an ongoing basis

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
What is a drainer in a GN container used for?

To lift the product above the base of the container. Liquid drains under the insert and stays there, so the product doesn't sit in run-off throughout display or storage.

Does a 1/4 drainer fit any container of this size?

To containers with a GN 1/4 footprint, i.e. 265 × 162 mm. The container's depth is unrestricted, though in very shallow versions little room is left under the insert for liquid.

Can a polypropylene drainer be put in the oven?

No. This is a plastic with limited resistance to high temperatures, intended for cold work and refrigerated conditions.
