Drainer for a gastronorm container 530x325 mm (polypropylene) KZ-GNPFR11 – how to choose the right one

KZ-GNPFR11 is a polypropylene drainage insert for a gastronorm container in the GN 1/1 size, with a footprint of 530 × 325 mm. The largest drainer in this range, intended for batches handled in a single vessel.

A full field changes the way you work with raw material. The product is laid out on it in a single layer, without piling up, so every piece drains on its own rather than through its neighbour, when defrosting and after washing this is the main difference compared with smaller formats.

It is just worth checking how much space is left beneath the insert. In a 20 or 40 mm vessel the reservoir for runoff is shallow, so for larger batches a deeper container is chosen, even if the footprint stays the same.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Defrosting larger batches of raw material spread out in a single layer
  • Draining vegetables after washing across the whole area of a full field
  • Display of fresh product in a case with a GN 1/1 field
  • Storing raw material in the cold room that should not sit in runoff

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
How should the container depth be matched to a 1/1 drainer?

According to the amount of liquid to be expected. The space beneath the insert is the only place for runoff, so for large batches a shallow vessel will fill up before the process is over.

Can product be laid out on the insert in several layers?

It can, but this loses its main advantage. The upper layers drain onto the lower ones, so the effect is similar to a vessel without a drainer.

How does a drainer differ from a perforated container?

A drainer is a flat insert placed on the bottom of an ordinary vessel. In this range it is a separate item, matched to the GN size of the container it is to work with.
