Drain 1 1/2" KZ-E15N – how to choose the right one
KZ-E15N is a stainless steel drain with a 1 1/2" connection and an aluminium nut. The steel body sets it apart from plastic drains with the same connection.
Aluminium in the nut is light and does not rust, but as a soft metal it stands up less well to being forced tight with a spanner than brass does. Fitting turns out better when the nut is pulled up by hand and only corrected with a tool at the end.
The two-inch version of the same solution is KZ-E20. If the workstation being refurbished has a wider outlet, that is the right part number, not KZ-E15N.

In the material. This drain is made of stainless steel, while the PVC-and-steel items have a plastic body. The connection is the same in both cases.
Will an aluminium nut withstand cleaning with aggressive chemicals?
Aluminium does not corrode in water, but it reacts with strongly alkaline preparations, for example those for convection ovens. It is worth rinsing the component with water rather than leaving it covered in foam for several hours.
What is the counterpart of this item in the two-inch size?
KZ-E20 – the same material description and the same aluminium nut, only the connection is 2 inches.
