Drain 1 1/4" with a plug KZ-501 – how to choose the right one
KZ-501 is a drain with a plug and a 1 1/4 inch connection, made of stainless steel and PVC. In the range of sink drains it is the only stock number with this connection size.
An inch and a quarter is met less often today than 1 1/2, mainly in smaller bowls and older workstations. If the component being replaced has exactly this thread, the choice in practice comes down to this item.
A plug in the set matters for service – it is usually the plug that goes missing or hardens, not the drain body itself. Buying the set removes the problem at the outset.

Not without alteration. The thread and the hole have to match, and a difference of a quarter of an inch means a different connection, not a different tolerance.
How do you check whether a workstation has 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inch?
The simplest way is to unscrew the old component and measure the thread diameter with a vernier caliper. Judging by eye is misleading, because both sizes look very similar in a finished installation.
