KP-500 is a drain with a partial trap for refrigeration units: a body of white PVC and a rubber part in black. The manufacturer carries it both as a complete set and as separate components.
Being able to order just the parts has real value for servicing. It is mainly the rubber that wears, while the PVC body can last over a decade in an appliance – there is no reason to replace it together with a part that has hardened.
The rubber construction has no screws, springs or flaps. This is its biggest advantage in conditions where water with product residue reaches the basin: there is nothing to jam, and cleaning comes down to removing and rinsing the part.
