The P440x229x130 evaporator is a heat exchanger with a steel construction, painted black in RAL 9005. The manufacturer also provides a variant without the coating, available on request under the designation NL.
The black coating matters where the heat exchanger is even partly visible – in display cases and display cabinets, where bare sheet metal stands out. The NL version, on the other hand, tends to be chosen when the part will disappear into the cabinet anyway, and the coating adds nothing but cost.

Will the paint withstand cleaning the inside of the appliance?
The datasheet does not state the coating's resistance to cleaning agents, so it is safer to adopt a rule of careful cleaning without aggressive chemicals or scrubbing the fins. Damage to the paint exposes the steel, and steel reacts quickly in damp conditions.
