Gastronorm container 176x108x65 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN19065 S – how to choose the right one

The steel GN 1/9 container with a footprint of 176 × 108 mm and a height of 65 mm holds 0.5 l. It is a vessel for exchange-cycle work: a filled insert waits in the cold room, while the emptied one goes straight to washing.

This mode requires several pieces of the same size, but it removes the riskiest action from staff – topping up fresh product onto the remains of the previous one. The whole container is replaced, so the history of the contents stays unambiguous.

The low mass and shallow bottom also affect cooling. After emptying and washing, the container immediately equalises its temperature with its surroundings, which makes it suitable for products that go into the cold room right after portioning.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Interchangeable inserts for a salad prep station and a refrigerated counter
  • Display of side dishes in a counter with a cover
  • Portioning pastes and spreads at the sandwich station
  • Brief cooling of small batches after hot processing

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
How many portions of sauce does half a litre give?

At a typical dose of 25 ml, this works out to around twenty portions, at 50 ml – ten. These are the numbers used to plan the number of spare inserts per shift.

Can containers of this size be stacked one on top of the other?

Empty ones yes, because the collar rests on the collar. Full ones are not worth stacking – the bottom of the upper one dips into the contents of the lower one if there is no lid between them.

What should you choose when the contents need to be visible without removing the lid?

In that case steel gives way to polycarbonate, which is transparent. The GN size stays the same, so the swap concerns only the material of the body.
