Gastronorm container 265x162x100 mm (polypropylene) KZ-GNP1410 – how to choose the right one

A polypropylene GN 1/4 container with a footprint of 265 × 162 mm and a height of 100 mm holds 2.8 l. This is the most universal combination in this quarter module, large enough for several hours of service and yet flat enough that the bottom is visible without leaning over the vessel.

Four such containers fill one GN 1/1 level, giving a convenient division of the counter into four menu items. In a buffet this means four toppings or four salads side by side, without spacer frames or dividers.

There is no point serving hot products in plastic. For a cold or lukewarm load, though, polypropylene is the most economical choice: it weighs little, does not shatter, and it is no great loss if it disappears along with a catering job.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • A refrigerated counter divided into four menu items
  • Off-site catering and buffets away from the home kitchen
  • Storing portioned semi-finished products in a GN cabinet
  • Prep stations with GN 1/4 wells

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Does a GN 1/4 lid fit regardless of the container's depth?

Yes, KZ-GNP14 rests on the edge of the 265 × 162 mm footprint, which is the same in the 65, 100, 150 and 200 mm versions. When buying a lid, you specify the GN size, not the height.

Is the vessel suitable for storing fatty products?

Polypropylene withstands contact with fats and oils well, it does not absorb them and does not visibly cloud because of them. Pigments from paprika or tomatoes, however, can leave a lasting mark on the wall.

How much does a container like this weigh when full?

The plastic body alone weighs a few hundred grams, and 2.8 l of contents is close to three kilograms. The whole thing can easily be carried with one hand, even overhead when placing it on a higher shelf.
