In brief

  • A GN 1/4 footprint measuring 265 x 162 mm and a 150 mm height give a 4.0 l capacity.
  • The depth lets a product sit submerged in brine that would stick out above the liquid in a shallower container.
  • Four containers of this format take up exactly one GN 1/1 well in a refrigerated cabinet.
  • Stainless steel suits brines, marinades and strongly scented products.

Gastronorm container 265x162x150 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN1415 – how to choose the right one

A stainless steel GN 1/4 container with a 265 x 162 mm footprint and 150 mm depth holds 4.0 l. In the prep area it serves as a bulk container: it holds a batch of product in brine or marinade before it goes for processing.

The tall wall lets the load be weighted down so it all stays under the liquid's surface. This matters for curing, and for vegetables that otherwise darken from the top and end up a different colour within the same batch once removed.

The rectangular footprint is convenient for keeping a cold store tidy. Four such containers arrange into a neat square on one shelf level, with no empty gaps where small containers usually get lost.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Curing and marinating larger batches of meat
  • Soaking pulses before cooking
  • Storing semi-finished products in brine in a refrigerated cabinet
  • Transporting raw material between the prep area and the main kitchen

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
How much does a full container of brine weigh?

About four kilograms of contents plus the container. When lifting it from a high shelf, it is worth gripping the two shorter sides rather than a single collar edge.

Would one large container work better instead of this format?

It depends on turnover. Four smaller containers let batches and dates be kept separate; one large one simplifies washing - for production spread over time, splitting usually wins.

Is the container suitable for freezing semi-finished products?

Steel withstands sub-zero temperatures without cracking. It is only necessary to leave room for the liquid to expand, and to remember that thawing in a container this deep takes longer than in a flat one.
