Gastronorm container 265x162x200 mm (polycarbonate) KZ-GNT1420 – how to choose the right one
A polycarbonate GN 1/4 container 200 mm high holds 5.2 l with a 265 × 162 mm footprint. This is the storage version: more than three times the capacity of the shallowest variant of the same module, taking up the same shelf area.
A deep container with a transparent wall is convenient for layered products – pickled vegetables, fruit in syrup, ingredients covered in oil. You can see the boundary between the product and the liquid, so checking happens without opening.
Five litres of contents is a load of around five kilograms. A container without handles at this weight is carried with both hands, and preferably not over a longer distance.

Ask a questionIs the container suitable for freezing a larger batch?
Polycarbonate withstands sub-zero temperatures, but with a 20 cm layer the product freezes slowly and unevenly. For freezing, it's better to split the load between shallower containers.
How do you check the state of the product without opening the container?
Through the wall, you can see the level, the clarity of the liquid and any sediment at the base. This is the main advantage of polycarbonate over opaque plastic in storage containers.
Is it worth ordering a lid for it?
For a storage container, a lid is practically essential – without it, the contents dry out and pick up odours from the cold room. For this size, KZ-GNT14 or KZ-GNP14 is used.
