In brief

  • A 265 x 162 mm footprint matches a GN 1/4 well, the wall height is 65 mm, and the capacity is 1.8 l.
  • Four such containers give 7.2 l of load on one GN 1/1 level.
  • Empty containers nest inside one another, so the stock of inserts does not take up shelf space.
  • Stainless steel goes back into rotation after every high-temperature wash cycle.

Gastronorm container 265x162x65 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN14065 S – how to choose the right one

A stainless steel GN 1/4 container with a 265 x 162 mm footprint and 65 mm depth holds 1.8 l. This size is most often bought in larger numbers - not as a single container, but as a set of inserts circulating between the cold store, the line and the dishwashing area.

The point of a set like this only becomes clear when counted. Four containers on the station and four in reserve mean that, throughout a shift, nobody pours fresh product onto the remains of the last batch, and every container has a clear fill date.

Stacking empty containers means a reserve like this is not a storage problem. Eight washed containers take up little more shelf space than two, until they are filled.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Sets of interchangeable inserts for a bain-marie and heated counter
  • Product rotation between the cold store and the serving station
  • Portioning toppings in advance, before service
  • Cycling containers through a hood-type dishwasher between shifts

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
How many containers are needed per station?

The rule of thumb is two sets: one on the line and one in the cold room. For a longer service or fast turnover, a third is added.

Can containers of different depths be mixed in one well?

Yes, because they all have an identical 265 × 162 mm collar and rest on the same edge. They only differ in how deep they reach below the level of the well.

Is the container suitable for storage in a freezer?

Steel withstands frost and does not become brittle, so the container can go through the whole cycle from freezing to regeneration. For a liquid load, some headroom should be left below the collar.
