In brief

A GN 1/4 container measuring 265 × 162 mm and 65 mm high holds 1.8 l. An elongated rectangle with a shallow wall is convenient everywhere ingredients are laid out in a layer and picked up with tongs rather than a ladle.
A quarter GN module is an intermediate size: larger than typical topping inserts, smaller than a vessel used for serving a main course. In breakfast buffets it covers exactly this part of the range, cheeses, cold cuts, sliced vegetables.
A shallow vessel is easy to wash and cools quickly, so it suits products with a short shelf life that go back to the dishwashing room every day.
What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

FAQ
Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.
Ask a questionAt a portion of 60 ml, that is around thirty portions from one fill, counting the realistic fill level of the vessel. For loose products the result depends on how tightly they pack together.
Into every one that has wells of this module, the 265 × 162 mm footprint is standardised. All you need to check is the depth of the well, since at 65 mm the container may be shallower than the unit's well.
In capacity: 1.8 l instead of 2.8 l, with an identical area. The shallower version shows the contents better and empties faster, the deeper one lets the station be topped up less often.
