Gastronorm container 325x132x100 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN2810 – how to choose the right one
The KZ-GN2810 gastronorm container has a GN 2/8 format, i.e. a footprint of 325 × 132 mm, and a depth of 100 mm, giving 2.7 l. This division of the standard is narrower and longer than the popular quarter size, although it covers a similar area.
The narrow footprint changes the way you arrange the line. Four such containers line up across a GN 1/1 field like strips, facing the server, so each ingredient has its own narrow lane and does not mix with the next one when scooping.
This arrangement looks particularly good in counters, where the guest sees all the items at once. Narrower containers give four distinct columns instead of squares, and the product in them looks like a continuous line rather than separate islands.

In proportions, not area. Both occupy a quarter of a GN 1/1 field, but 2/8 has a footprint of 325 × 132 mm, i.e. narrower and longer, while 1/4 has 265 × 162 mm.
How many 2/8 containers fit onto a GN 1/1 field?
Four, placed side by side along their narrower edge. A width of 132 mm multiplied by four gives 528 mm, practically the whole length of the field.
Will a lid for GN 1/4 fit?
No. Despite the similar area, the two formats have different collar dimensions, so the lid is selected solely to match the GN 2/8 designation.
