Gastronorm container 325x176x100 mm (polypropylene) KZ-GNP1310 – how to choose the right one
A polypropylene GN 1/3 container has a 325 × 176 mm footprint, a height of 100 mm and a capacity of 4.0 l. This is the arrangement around which most counters are designed: three items per module, each with a stock for several hours of serving.
Four litres over this surface area gives a layer of about ten centimetres. The ladle picks up a full portion without tilting the container, while the base is still close by, so leftovers don't get left in the corners.
In the plastic version, this size most often works as a preparation container in the back of house and a display container in the cold section. For serving hot food in the same slot, a steel container with an identical footprint is used.

Not in the hot section – that's where steel works. Plastic handles the same size in the cold sections and in storage, so the ingredient moves from one container to another without changing slots.
How many portions of soup does 4 litres hold?
At a 300 ml portion, that's about thirteen portions from one fill. In practice, a few less are served, because the last layer at the bottom rarely goes down in full.
Will the container's rim withstand the weight of a second container?
When stacking with the KZ-GNP13 lid, the weight is distributed around the rim and doesn't deform the walls. Without the lid, the top container rests on the contents of the bottom one, which should be avoided with plastic.
