In brief

  • The GN 1/3 format with a 325 × 176 mm footprint holds 5.7 l in the 150 mm version.
  • That is 1.7 l more than the same footprint at a depth of 100 mm.
  • Nearly six litres of soup is enough for several dozen portions from one container.
  • The steel construction withstands stirring with a ladle and long use in a water bath.

Gastronorm container 325x176x150 mm (AISI-304) KZ-GN1315 – how to choose the right one

The KZ-GN1315 gastronorm container is stainless steel in the GN 1/3 format, measuring 325 × 176 mm and 150 mm deep, with a capacity of 5.7 l. A deep one-third is a typical container for soups and liquid dishes served from a bain-marie.

With this volume, the station runs without breaks for topping up. Nearly six litres usually lasts most of the service, and the swap is planned between rush peaks rather than during them.

The depth does, however, require matching equipment. One hundred and fifty millimetres plus the layer of water in the well is a height that, in shallower bain-maries, ends up with the container not seating on the collar.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Soups and one-pot dishes served from a bain-marie
  • Large quantities of sauce on the lunch line
  • A liquid load in heated trolleys taken round wards
  • Buffet warmers with a deep well

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Will a container like this fit in every bain-marie?

In most cases yes, but it depends on the working depth of the well. What needs measuring is not the well itself but the clearance left once the water has been poured in.

When is the 100 mm version enough?

When the item moves more slowly and four litres covers demand. A shallower container heats up faster and is easier to scoop from towards the end of service.

How should a full container be carried?

With both hands, by the two shorter sides, and preferably with the lid on. Close to six kilograms of hot liquid is a load for which a single grip is not enough.
