A polycarbonate GN 1/3 container 200 mm high holds 6.6 l. The elongated 325 × 176 mm base and maximum depth give a container with a distinctly storage character – three such containers on a rack level come to nearly twenty litres of product.
A capacity like this works well for ingredients bought and prepared in bulk: vegetables in water, pickled vegetables, ready brines. Transparency allows the contents of each container to be checked without removing the lids.
The container is too deep for ongoing serving, so it works more as intermediate storage. The contents are decanted in batches into working containers at the station.

By its capacity of 6.6 l instead of 5.0 l, and by how deep you have to reach. For a container opened several times a day, the shorter version remains more convenient.
Will the container keep its shape when fully filled?
Yes, as long as it stands on a flat surface or in runners. The risk of deformation arises when a full container is lifted by one edge.
Can products be kept under water overnight in this container?
Yes – polycarbonate doesn't absorb water or odours. For longer soaking, it's worth covering the container to limit odour exchange in the cold room.
