Gastronorm container 325x265x100 mm (AISI-304) KZ-GN1210 – how to choose the right one

KZ-GN1210 is a GN 1/2 container measuring 325 × 265 mm and 100 mm high, holding 6.5 l. A steel half-module at this depth is a typical bain-marie insert for one-pot dishes and anything served with a ladle.

With a width of 265 mm a ladle goes into the interior freely at an angle, without resting it against the wall. That is a real difference compared with narrower formats, where every scoop ends with the handle rubbing against the rim and dripping onto the servery worktop.

Six and a half litres of stew weighs over six kilograms, so carrying a full container is already a two-handed job. At the servery it is easier to swap the insert when it is half empty than to wrestle with a full one over a hot bain-marie well.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • A bain-marie and servery line with one-pot dishes
  • Braised meats and vegetables cooked in a combi steam oven
  • Storing larger batches of semi-finished products in the cold room
  • Off-site catering in insulated carriers designed for the GN grid

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
When should GN 1/2 be chosen instead of two GN 1/3 containers?

When there is a single menu item selling in large quantities. Two one-third containers give greater variety; a half gives fewer insert swaps during service.

Is 100 mm a good depth for baking?

For dishes with sauce, yes, since the liquid has margin and does not boil over at the first swirl. For things that need to brown on top, it is better to choose a lower insert, since a tall wall shields the product from the flow of hot air.

How deep does a ladle reach in this container?

At 100 mm the bottom is reached with a standard ladle without dipping the handle in, which stops being a given with deeper GN 1/2 inserts.
