Gastronorm container 354x325x20 mm (AISI-304) KZ-GN2302 – how to choose the right one

KZ-GN2302 is a GN 2/3 container measuring 354 × 325 mm and just 20 mm high, holding 1.8 l. The largest flat base in this group – a container bought for the surface it offers for spreading product without stacking.

Almost a quarter of a square metre of base with a wall lower than a finger's thickness is a setup that works well for cooling and drying. A thin layer releases heat and moisture evenly, without the cold and hot spots that form in deeper containers.

This format is also sometimes used as a base under other containers: placed underneath, it collects condensation and drips instead of letting them spread over the cold room shelf.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Fast cooling of a thin layer before packaging
  • Drying washed herbs and leafy vegetables
  • Spreading portions out for individual freezing, without sticking together
  • A tray collecting condensation under other containers in the cold room

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Why such a large base with such a low wall?

Because cooling and drying speed is determined by the ratio of surface area to volume. This format performs the best of all in the group here.

Is 1.8 l a realistic usable capacity?

With a 20 mm wall, filling to the rim is theoretical – the product would spill during carrying anyway. It's treated as a single-layer container, not one meant to be filled.

Will this insert fit in a blast chiller?

Usually yes, because these units work on the GN grid. You just need to check whether the runners accept the two-thirds format, not only full modules and halves.
