Gastronorm container 530x162x150 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN2415 – how to choose the right one

KZ-GN2415 is a steel gastronorm container in GN 2/4 with a footprint of 530 × 162 mm and a depth of 150 mm, with a capacity of 9.0 litres. This is the tallest wall found in this narrow format.

The deep 2/4 version solves a typical back-of-house conflict: a lot of product is needed, but there is no way to occupy a full 1/1 field. Nine litres fit here on an area half the size, at the cost of five extra centimetres of height.

It is worth working this out against the equipment beforehand. A 150 mm container fits the same runners as a shallow one, but it takes up two levels in an oven or forces you to skip a neighbouring rail in a trolley.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Marinating and curing in brine, where the raw material has to stay covered
  • Soups and sauces stored in larger quantities at one station
  • Narrow refrigerated modules where a full 1/1 field does not fit
  • Batch production ahead of service, later decanted into shallower wells

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Will a container 150 mm high fit into every bain-marie?

Not into every one, what decides this is the depth of the heated well, not the GN size alone. Before buying, it is worth measuring the clearance from the rim to the bottom of the well.

Why 9.0 l instead of a simple multiple of the shallower version?

Because capacity does not grow perfectly linearly, the walls of GN containers taper slightly so they can be nested inside one another. Hence 6.0 l at 100 mm and 9.0 l at 150 mm.

How can such a deep, narrow container be emptied conveniently?

The simplest way is with a ladle along the long side, most standard ladles reach the bottom at 150 mm. Pouring over the narrow 162 mm edge is less convenient than in the 1/2 format.
