Gastronorm container 530x162x20 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN2402 – how to choose the right one

KZ-GN2402 is a steel GN 2/4 container measuring 530 × 162 mm and 20 mm deep, holding 1.1 litres. The shallowest variant in this format, intended for products laid out in a single layer.

At a two-centimetre wall the container stops being a vessel and becomes a rimmed tray. Slices, garnishes or individual portions do not get lost in the depths, staff see the whole state of the well from a distance and know when to top it up.

A narrow strip 530 mm long also works well in a refrigerated display case set along a counter. The product is then spread evenly along the whole length of the display, without gaps between containers.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Display of slices, toppings and garnishes in a refrigerated case
  • Breakfast buffets, where visibility and neat arrangement matter
  • Baking and browning a thin load in an oven
  • Setting aside portioned items at a service station

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Can you still call it a container at 20 mm?

The nominal capacity is 1.1 l, but in practice this size acts as a GN tray. It is not suitable for liquids, since even a slight tilt spills the contents over the rim.

How does it differ from the 40 mm version of the same format?

Doubling the height gives 2.4 l instead of 1.1 l, more than double. The 40 mm version can still hold sauce, whereas this one remains a container for dry product.

Can such a shallow container be covered?

Yes, a GN 2/4 lid rests on the rim regardless of the wall height. You just need to remember that this leaves almost no clearance above the product.
