Gastronorm container 530x162x65 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GN24065 – how to choose the right one

The KZ-GN24065 gastronorm container has a GN 2/4 footprint of 530 × 162 mm, a depth of 65 mm and a capacity of 4.0 litres. This is the most universal height in this narrow format.

Sixty-five millimetres has become the default well depth on the line, since it holds portions in sauce while not leaving product sitting at the bottom for a whole service. In the 2/4 format this gives 4.0 l, a reasonable amount for one top-up.

Since this depth recurs across all GN sizes, 2/4 containers at 65 mm are easy to combine with 1/3 or 1/6 in one line. The edges line up, and swapping one container does not force the neighbours to be rearranged.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Servery lines and bain-maries where 65 mm is the standard depth
  • Dishes in sauce portioned with a ladle in front of the guest
  • Mixed line-ups with 1/3 and 1/6 containers at the same height
  • Banqueting warmers with a GN 1/1 field split into two items

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Why does exactly 65 mm recur in every GN size?

It is a height worked out for service equipment: it holds a portion in sauce and matches the typical depth of bain-marie wells. Thanks to it, containers of different sizes line up evenly in one row.

Is 4.0 l enough for a service?

It depends on the menu item and the pace of service. The 2/4 format is designed to serve a topping or a second item in the well, so it is topped up more often than a 1/1 container.

Can the same container be put into a refrigerated cabinet?

Yes, as long as the cabinet has GN runners, the footprint is identical to that in a bain-marie. That is the main advantage of the standard: the product does not change container between the cold room and service.
