The polypropylene GN 1/1 pan measures 530 × 325 mm, is 100 mm high and holds 14.0 l. A full module at this depth works well in kitchens that move semi-finished products between the back of house and the stations.
Fourteen litres is a large batch of a single ingredient, and a ten-centimetre layer still allows working with a ladle rather than only pouring.
In mixed kitchens, the same size comes in several materials, so an ingredient can go through the oven in steel, and through the cold room and transport in plastic, all the while staying in the same runner slot.

The material and what follows from it. Plastic is lighter but cannot go into an oven or onto a hob; steel withstands high temperatures but is heavier and feels colder to the hand in a freezer.
Will the container fit on a standard cold room shelf?
The 530 × 325 mm footprint is the reference dimension for GN racks and trolleys, so it fits everywhere the runners meet the standard. Only the height relative to the neighbouring level needs checking.
How much does a container like this weigh when full?
