Gastronorm container 530x325x100 mm (polypropylene) KZ-GNP1110 – how to choose the right one

A polypropylene GN 1/1 container measures 530 × 325 mm, is 100 mm high and has a capacity of 14.0 l. A full module at this depth is the basic transport unit in kitchens that move semi-finished products between the back of house and the stations.

Fourteen litres holds one day's production of one ingredient in a kitchen serving several hundred meals. At the same time, a ten-centimetre layer allows work with a ladle, not just decanting the contents.

In mixed kitchens, the same size comes in several materials, so an ingredient can go through the oven in steel, and through the cold room and transport in plastic, all the while staying in the same runner slot.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Transporting semi-finished products on a trolley with GN 1/1 runners
  • Storing one day's production of one ingredient
  • Catering kitchens serving large batches from one container
  • Cold cabinets and freezers in a full GN module

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
How does it differ from a steel container of the same size?

In its material, and in what follows from it. Plastic is lighter and cheaper, but doesn't go in the oven or on the hob; steel withstands temperature, but weighs more and feels colder to the touch in a freezer.

Will the container fit on a standard cold room shelf?

The 530 × 325 mm footprint is the reference dimension for GN racks and trolleys, so it fits everywhere the runners meet the standard. Only the height relative to the neighbouring level needs checking.

How much does a container like this weigh when full?

Contents with a density close to water come to about fourteen kilograms. That's a load for two people or a trolley, especially if it has to be lifted above waist height.
