Yes, selection is based solely on the GN size. A 176 × 108 mm lid sits the same on a shallow 1/9 container as on one a hundred millimetres tall.
Can a container with this lid be put in the oven?
Stainless steel will withstand it, but the cover changes the cooking method – steam stays inside, and the product steams rather than bakes. This is a solution for braised dishes, not for baking.
How many 1/9 lids are needed for a 1/3 field?
Three, because three 1/9 containers placed side by side fill the surface of one 1/3 field. Each one is closed separately.
