In brief

  • Steel GN 1/9 lid measuring 176 × 108 mm – the smallest size in this range.
  • The lid's own weight is small enough that it doesn't strain the rim of a thin-walled container.
  • Rigid steel doesn't lift from steam and doesn't slide off during transport.
  • The steel surface doesn't absorb the odours of spices and sauces.

Lid for a gastronorm container 176x108 mm (stainless steel) KZ-GNC19 S – how to choose the right one

A stainless steel lid for a GN 1/9 Gastronorm container, measuring 176 × 108 mm. A rigid closure for the smallest Gastronorm field, used mainly in topping units and salad units.

With small containers, a closure does more than it seems. A sauce or garnish in an open container dries out on top within an hour, and in a topping unit there's also the stream of cold air from the condensing unit.

A rigid lid also has an organisational benefit: it lies flat, so containers can be stacked one on top of another in the cold room, instead of finding a separate shelf for each one.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Storing sauces and dressings in small portions
  • Stacked storage of 1/9 containers in the cold room
  • Reducing product drying out in a refrigerated topping unit
  • Protecting the contents while carrying between stations

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Does the lid close the container tightly?

A steel GN lid rests on the rim and doesn't form a seal. It protects against drying out and contamination, but for transporting liquids it won't replace a pressed-on closure.

Steel or silicone for storage?

Silicone adheres to the edge better and reduces air access. Steel is rigid, so it withstands stacking containers on top of each other and working under heat better.

Can the lid be washed together with the containers?

Yes, stainless steel doesn't react with machine detergents. Small lids are placed flat in the basket so they don't tip over under the water jet.
