Lid for a gastronorm container 176x108 mm (polypropylene) KZ-GNP19 – how to choose the right one
The polypropylene GN 1/9 lid with a footprint of 176 × 108 mm closes the smallest module in the gastronorm standard. It fits over the edge of the container, so it serves both shallow and deep versions of the same size.
With such small vessels, the lid mainly serves an organising function: it protects toppings from drying out and from picking up odours inside an enclosed refrigerator. Closed containers can also be stacked one on top of another, since the weight is carried by the rim, not by the contents.
The opaque plastic does not let you see inside without removing the lid. Where checking the contents needs to be instant, the polycarbonate equivalent of the same size is chosen instead.

Yes, the fit follows from the GN size, not the material of the vessel. A polypropylene lid seats on a polycarbonate GN 1/9 container the same way it does on a polypropylene one.
Is the closure airtight?
GN lids fit over the rim and do not form an airtight seal. They protect against drying out and contamination, but a container with liquid must not be tipped over or laid on its side.
How do you know it is the right size?
What decides this is the container's footprint: 176 × 108 mm is GN 1/9. The vessel's depth, 65 or 100 mm, makes no difference to the choice of lid.
