KZ-GNS16 is a silicone lid for a GN 1/6 gastronorm container measuring 176 × 162 mm, made of MVQ silicone rubber. A soft closure for storing and transporting contents.
Silicone behaves differently from steel with temperature changes: it does not feel scalding to the touch when taken out of a warm environment, and it does not stiffen after a night in the cold room. It is a material chosen where the lid is taken off and put back on many times a day.

The data sheet does not specify heat applications, so for oven processing it is safer to use a steel lid. In this range, silicone is described as a closure for storage and transport.
How should silicone lids be washed?
The same as the rest of the vessels, remembering to lay them flat in the basket. The light material lifts under the jet of water if it is not held down by something.
Does the flexible edge stretch over time?
Silicone rubber returns to shape once removed, but like any elastomer it wears out faster than steel. Silicone lids are treated as a replaceable item, not a lifetime one.
