KZ-GNS14 is a silicone lid for a GN 1/4 gastronorm container measuring 265 × 162 mm, made of MVQ silicone rubber. A flexible closure for storing and transporting contents.

Yes, because it wraps around the edge instead of just resting on it. It is not, however, an airtight seal and will not replace a container with clip-on clasps.
Does silicone pick up odours?
Silicone rubber is much more neutral in this respect than thermoplastics. After longer contact with very aromatic products, though, it is worth washing separately.
Is a lid like this suitable for freezing?
Silicone does not become brittle at low temperatures, so it can be removed from a frozen container too. The contents themselves, however, freeze more slowly than in an uncovered container.
