KZ-GNS13 is a silicone lid for a GN 1/3 gastronorm container measuring 325 × 176 mm, made of MVQ silicone rubber. A flexible closure for one of the most commonly used divisions of a 1/1 field.
A flexible closure shows its advantage best on plastic vessels. The rim of a polycarbonate container tends to be less even than a steel one, and the soft edge settles onto it without gaps that pressing down cannot remove with a rigid sheet.
A silicone lid is also noticeably lighter than a steel one and can be rolled up. It is a small storage detail, but a set of closures in a drawer under the worktop then takes up as much space as a few cloths.

It wraps around the edge, so it holds more securely than a closure that just lies flat. It is not, however, a mechanical clamp, and if the container is turned fully upside down the contents will still spill out.
What should guide the choice between steel and silicone in the 1/3 size?
The scope of the vessel's work. For heat treatment and for stacking containers one on top of another, steel is chosen; for storage and transport, silicone.
Is a silicone lid suitable for a dishwasher?
Yes, but it is light and can shift within the basket under a strong jet of water. It is laid flat and is best weighed down with something heavier.
