The 354 × 325 mm footprint differs from the 1/2 field by less than three centimetres on one side, so the two lids look almost identical in a stack – the fastest way to tell them apart is to keep them separate, not to compare them every time.
Otherwise, the lid works like any other steel one: it rests on the rim, carries weight, and returns to circulation after machine washing. The only difference is that there's usually no substitute for it in the kitchen.

By the longer side: 354 mm versus 325 mm. With two lids placed on top of each other, the difference is immediately visible; with a single one, you need to reach for a tape measure or the marking.
Can the lid be washed together with 1/1 containers?
Yes, as long as there's a gap between the containers in the basket. Sheets placed on top of each other shield each other from the water jet.
Is it worth keeping a spare piece of this size?
Usually yes, because it can't be replaced by any other lid from stock. For basic formats a substitute is at hand; for 2/3, probably not.
