The polycarbonate GN 1/1 lid measuring 530 × 325 mm closes a container that occupies the full catering module. This is the size used where one container corresponds to one item of the load: a whole trolley level, one lid, one label.
With such a large surface, transparency takes on an organisational dimension. A loaded trolley can be read from above, so assembling a transport and checking returns are done without removing the panels and without setting the containers down on the worktop.
A large panel is lifted by the shorter side so that it does not bend in the middle. The same habit protects it from scratches: laid flat on a clean worktop rather than leaned against the edge of a table, it stays clear for longer.

Not under its own weight, but lifted by a single corner it clearly flexes. Gripping it by the shorter edge or by two opposite sides settles the matter and reduces the risk of permanent deformation.
Is a separate lid needed for a container of a different depth?
No, the whole GN 1/1 module has the same rim. One panel serves the shallow 65 mm container and the deepest one at 200 mm.
How many such lids should be ordered for a transport trolley?
As many as there are levels travelling filled, plus a reserve for the containers waiting in the cold room. A lid without a container is useless, but a container without a lid falls back on a makeshift sheet of film.
