Stainless wire shelf – various models KP-PI – how to choose the right one
The KP-PI wire shelves are a family of models in AISI-304 or AISI-201 stainless steel, differing in outline and the way they are supported. They are chosen where resistance to moisture and washing matters, rather than matching colour to the surrounding units.
It is worth settling the steel grade at the enquiry stage, since it cannot be changed later without replacing the shelf. AISI-304 contains nickel and better withstands an environment with salt and washing with low-pH agents. AISI-201 costs less and is enough for a typical refrigerated cabinet for packaged products.
To assign a model we need three pieces of information: the dimensions of the unit's interior, the shelf depth, and what it is to rest on. For shelving units assembled from scratch, the number of levels is also needed, since that determines the set of rails and brackets.

What decides this is the chemistry and the goods involved. For brine, marinades and washing with aggressive agents, 304 is taken. For packaged products and washing with water and detergent, 201 is enough and costs less.
Does KP-PI denote one specific size?
No. It is a collective index for several models. The dimension is stated at the enquiry stage, and we select a model that fits the specified unit.
Does a stainless shelf require different brackets than a plastic-coated one?
It is not the material of the shelf alone that decides this, but its weight and depth. For heavier levels, the stainless brackets KP-D-2 or KP-F-2 are chosen instead of polyamide ones.
