The KP-PL wire shelf is a steel grid coated with plastic, available in several coating colours. The colour is matched to the interior of the unit, and the coating keeps the steel away from the moisture that accompanies refrigeration work at all times.
Colour here is not just decoration. A light shelf blends into the white interior of a refrigerator and does not draw attention away from the goods, a dark one builds a background for colourful packaging. In a glass-fronted unit that a customer looks at from a metre away, this difference is visible immediately.
Besides the colour, an enquiry needs the shelf's dimension and how it is supported, whether it rests on runners in the body, on brackets, or on a rail. The KP-PL index alone does not settle any of these on its own.

Is a plastic-coated shelf suitable for a freezer?
The plastic withstands sub-zero temperatures, but in a freezer the shelf works in frost and goes through defrost cycles. With frequent defrosting and washing, the stainless version proves more durable.
