Profile – PUT-440 – how to choose the right one
PUT-440 is a rigid PVC body profile, specified by exact RAL numbers: grey RAL7035, grey RAL7040 or black RAL9005. The colour is specified when ordering, since all three are catalogue versions.
A RAL number instead of a general colour description simplifies selection in projects where the housing is powder-coated. RAL7035 is a light, cool grey found in technical installations, RAL7040 is noticeably darker, and RAL9005 gives a matt edge that stands out against the cladding.
In practice, the choice between the two greys is settled by comparing the profile with the cladding – the difference is distinct enough that picking the wrong shade by mistake shows up on the finished unit.

RAL7035 is light and works well with cladding in light greys; RAL7040 is noticeably darker. When matching to a powder-coated housing, the cladding's own RAL number decides.

Does the PUT designation differ from PU in any way?
It's a distinction within the manufacturer's designations, not in the material – the profile remains a rigid PVC extrusion. The fit is decided by the cross-section, not by the symbol's prefix.
