Reducer (2"x1 1/2") KZ-D-R – how to choose the right one
The KZ-D-R reducer connects a 2 inch spigot to a 1 1/2 inch installation. The body is made of brass, and the manufacturer's data indicate a nickel-plated finish. It is a transition component for stations where the bowl drain has a different size from the pipe under the worktop.
Such a discrepancy arises most often when replacing a sink in an existing line. The new bowl is sometimes ordered with a wider drain, because it empties faster, while the waste connection point stays as it was made when the back-of-house area was built. The reducer makes it possible to leave the pipework alone.

What does a metal reducer win on against the PVC equivalent?
On the resistance of the thread to repeated fitting and on the higher temperature of the water running through. At a rarely used station the difference is small; in a wash-up area working all day it starts to be noticeable.
