Roller Ø25 mm (polyamide/galvanised/ball bearing) KP-AC-1007 – how to choose the right one
KP-AC-1007 is a roller 25 mm in diameter combining a polyamide wheel, a galvanised housing and a ball bearing. The same size is also available in an all-metal version.
Plastic at the point of contact with the rail quietens the movement and spares the slide. The roller deforms only minimally under load, so it spreads the pressure instead of concentrating it along a single line.
There is a limit to this. With a very heavy leaf, polyamide working constantly at the same point can develop a flat spot, especially when the unit stands unmoved for a long period.

Plastic for typical leaves and wherever quietness counts; metal where the load is exceptionally high. On a standard display case the polyamide version is the default choice.
What can be done about a flattened tread?
The deformation cannot be reversed, so the roller is replaced with a new one. If the unit is to stand still for a long time, it is worth moving the leaf a few centimetres now and again.
