Roller KP-AC-3429, 29 mm in diameter, is made of polyamide – both the tread and the housing. It is the only construction of its kind among rollers of this size.
The absence of metal has one concrete consequence in service: the part does not rust anywhere, including where the protective coating usually wears away fastest. In permanently damp equipment this can be the deciding argument.
In return you have to accept lower stiffness across the whole assembly. Plastic deflects more than steel under a heavy load, so for the heaviest leaves this item will not be the right choice.
