The KZ-Z-330 overflow pipe has a diameter of Ø40 mm, a length of 330 mm and is made of AISI-304 stainless steel. It is intended for deep bowls holding several dozen litres of water at a time.
On that scale overfilling a bowl is not a puddle but water spilt across the floor around the station. Beyond the clearing up, it means a slippery floor where people walk with hot vessels.
It is worth checking whether the overflow hole in the bowl has a cross-section matching this diameter. An overflow with too little throughput will do its job only if the tap runs more slowly than the pipe can take away.

Ask a questionWill the overflow keep up with a fast-running tap?
Throughput depends on the diameter of the hole and of the pipe itself, so with a high-output tap it may not take away the whole excess. That does not release the staff from watching, but it does give a margin of time to react.
Why should the pipe be steel if it is hidden in the bowl?
Because it works in water with detergent and at a raised temperature for most of the day. Steel does not soften or deform with boiling water, which happens more often with deep bowls.
What should be done when the bowl is 400 mm deep?
The right choice is then the longer 380 mm variant from the same series. A shorter pipe will work, but it will take away a few centimetres of usable depth.
